It will try to recover the current pst file and in most cases problems return. Try third party utilities that can create a fresh PST file and import all the data from the old file. But remember one thing, make a backup copy for the problematic pst file before running any fixing tool as you might want to try and run another tool if your first move is not lucky. Google luck.
