I haven’t setup LogMeIn because I’m skittish about security.  PhoneFactor looks like a promising addition to the chain that could alleviate my concerns.  It provides a second-factor authentication (the first being your username/password) by requiring you to answer your phone before it lets you in.  If you (or, more likely, a would-be hacker) don’t have [...]

I’ve been using Handbrake to put the kids’ DVDs on my iPhone.  It’s fast and very accurate, plus it will add the chapters in, which is great for those “I want to watch the scene where ________________ happens!” moments (which are frequent).  However, Handbrake converts the volume at a level that is too low.  The [...]

This should be more simple than it is.  The short of it is that you need to construct your own URL.  And don’t use spaces in your List names. This is a link to the <a href=”http://intranet/[%LISTNAME:Path%]/DispForm.aspx?ID=[%LISTNAME:ID%]“> list item</a> The item “intranet” is the path to the root of your SharePoint site – “http://sharepoint.yourcompany.com/” [%LISTNAME:Path%] [...]

Why would anyone talk about reduced market cap as an indicator of anything in this market?

Ugh – what a stupid “feature”.  I’m testing some AtomicParsley settings in Remote Desktop, and every time it fails, a ridiculously loud Beep comes out of my local computer.  I’ve muted the speakers and disabled every setting in RD, but it still happens. Enter the interwebs.  Or, more specifically, a site called Weyland.be. Turns out [...]

I was having trouble with the header tags (<h2>, etc.) all showing up as the same size with the old theme.  This new one flows the text much better.  See the DTB guide (which I just updated a little bit) for an example.

Or, “How I Got My iPhone to Do This”: Overview I finally broke down and jailbroke my iPhone.  My motivation was that June Fabrics developed PdaNet for the iPhone, but it was rejected by the App Store, so they released it on Cydia.  However, once I jailbroke, I found a wealth of apps out there [...]

I made a comment about TaskData (an app that syncs tasks directly with Exchange) being overpriced, and the developer, Phillip Zedalis, posted a response stating that he thought it was priced reasonably in relation to the other apps out there.  I actually agree that, relative to the other apps out there, it is priced correctly.  However, I [...]

I found a way to copy a file (from any directory) from a jailbroken iPhone to any computer using the USB sync cable.  After typing this up, I did find one other reference to this process, although it seems to have a couple of extra steps that aren’t necessary (i.e., manzana). This is handy in [...]
